Grade 6 students from around the territory said good-bye to their classrooms Feb. 7 and 8 to gather in Whitehorse for the Polar Games.
The two day event saw students play and be introduced to a variety of sports. Skating, curling, tennis, swimming, wrestling and soccer were part of a long list of activities the students participated in.
Participants were also busy keeping a tradition alive by signing one another’s Polar Games shirts.
Local sports organizations had coaches and assistants on hand leading the activities.
Students also danced the evening away on Feb. 7 at Elijah Smith Elementary School during the Polar Games dance.
