June 28, 1968 - November 24, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Terry (Terence) Wilbern, a resident of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, at the age of 54 years. Terry fought a courageous battle with ALS for 5 years and on Thursday, November 24, 2022, he chose his destiny, passing peacefully in the hospital with his loved ones at his side. Throughout his battle with ALS, Terry's sense of selflessness was evident in his fight to have organ donation become interprovincial, a fight he won!
Terry was born on June 28, 1968, in Whitehorse, Yukon, to Ken and Donna Wilbern. He later moved to Sparwood, British Columbia, where he attended school and started his profession as an Off-the-Road Tire Technician at various mine sites. It was in Sparwood that he became a father to Aaron and Matthew, his two pride and joys.
Terry loved to camp, quad, and snowmobile in the beautiful BC mountains. He was an avid coffee drinker, storyteller, and jokester with a personality that instantly made you feel welcome.
Terry is survived by his two sons, Aaron and Matthew; parents Ken and Donna; brothers Kent and Garth; best friend Sandi; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his uncle George Barker, and cousin Doug Barker.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Terry to the ALS Association of Canada at als.ca/donate or via cheque to ALS Canada; Attn Donations; 393 University Avenue; Suite 1701; Toronto, ON, M5G 1E6.
