February 21, 1977 - January 30, 2021
Shawn was born in Vancouver on February 21, 1977 and passed away on January 30, 2021 at the age of 43. He grew up in the mountains of West Creston with his parents Norm and Sandy and older siblings Daryl, Shane and Denise.
Shawn enjoyed country living surrounded by horses, mules, dogs and cats. Especially fun was spending time outside building forts in the barn with hay bales, fishing with family up Corn Creek and playing with many cousins who lived nearby.
In 1987 he and his family moved to Whitehorse. Shawn attended Porter Creek Secondary and discovered his artistic abilities; some of his pieces were later hung in St. Paul's Hospital. He attended the Bethany Church youth group and enjoyed time at Camp Yukon before leaving for the big city after graduation. Shawn lived in Vancouver for the past 25 years.
He leaves behind his biological dad Randy Thompson, daughter Emily McKim, his parents Norm & Sandy, brothers Daryl & Shane, sister Denise and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. He is predeceased by his biological mom, Cynthia Fraser and brother J.R. Thompson. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and love of animals. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
