Apr 19, 1950 - Apr 19, 2018
Sandra Gay Sewell (Brown) passed away peacefully on April 19, 2018. She left life as she lived it, on her own terms, after a celebration with her closest friends and family, on her 68th birthday.

She leaves behind her beloved son, Ben Sewell, his wife Monique, and their daughters Alisha and Karissa, her granddaughter, Courtney Grant-Sewell and her great grandson, Kye. She was predeceased by her treasured daughter, Rachael, who passed away December 4, 2012.

Sandy was born April 19, 1950 in Lindsay, Ontario and moved with her family to the Yukon in 1982. Sandra worked in a variety of Yukon Government positions, and she was recently retired from the Department of Justice. For those that had the pleasure of truly knowing Sandy, she will be remembered for her commitment to her work - her keen attention to detail, her organization, and her knowledge. Her quick wit and sarcastic sense of humour will be fondly remembered by many.

Sandy has asked that people remember her in their own way - find a favourite memory of her and take some time to enjoy that moment.

Many thanks to Sandy's long-time friends, for their uplifting support over the last year. Special thanks to Dr. Brad Avery, Dr. Sally MacDonald, and the amazing nurses of Whitehorse General Hospital for their dedication, compassion and excellent care.

Sandra has requested no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

A short recognition of Sandy's life will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 between 6:00 pm & 8:00 pm at the Golden Age Society at 4061A Fourth Avenue, in Whitehorse, Yukon.
