Patricia May (Patti) Ford (nee Blysak) was born on October 28, 1968 in Vancouver, B.C. and died on May 13, 2024 in Whitehorse Yukon after a brief battle with cancer.
The youngest of three, Patti lived in Grasmere, B.C. until she was 9 years old when she moved with her family to Mayo, Yukon. After a couple years the family moved to Watson Lake and eventually into Whitehorse where Patti graduated from FH Collins High school in 1986. After high school, Patti attended SAIT and the University of Calgary, earning a degree as a medical laboratory technician. She worked at Medicine Hat Hospital for 37 years until she retired. After retirement, Patti packed up and moved back to the Yukon, where she accepted a new job in the lab at Whitehorse General Hospital. Patti and her partner Chris were excited to start a new chapter of life in the Yukon.
Patti is survived by her partner Chris Simmons, her children Nathan and Alex Ford, step-children Ben and Tony Simmons, mother May Blysak, sister Karen Macklon, brother Stephen Blysak (Alla), half-siblings Jennifer Miller and Chris Kohlman, her many nieces and nephews and her two great-nieces. She will also be greatly missed by her large extended family and multitude of friends and colleagues.
Patti is predeceased by her father, Clarke Blysak (2010), her brother in law Alan Macklon (2022), her grandparents (Harry and Emma Black, Stephen and Josiphine Blysak) along with many aunts, uncles and extended family.
