February 19, 1940 - August 9, 2018
We are deeply saddened to announce that Joseph Robert (Bob) Roy, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 9, 2018.

Bob was born February 19, 1940, in a small cabin near Riviere-Heva, Quebec. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy; and in 1961 he met the love of his life, Mollie Roy (yes, she had the same last name, no they were not related). Bob and Mollie moved to the North in 1969 with their two children, settling first in Yellowknife, and later Whitehorse in 1981.

Throughout his life, whether as a business owner or later as an addictions counsellor, Bob was devoted to helping others. He will always be remembered as a quiet, gentle, compassionate man, who was unselfishly generous with his time, advice, and support.

Thank you to Dr. Buchanan, WGH nurses in ICU and Medical ward, Elder Annie, and all our special friends. We are overwhelmed with the love and support we have received.

Following his wishes, there will be no service, however a celebration of life will be held later next year.

In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that if you were a recipient of Bob's kindness, that you pay it forward to another in need.

Bob, Dad, Pepere - There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
