JoAnne Bertha Hollingdale (nee Patriquin)

September 8, 2020

February 1, 1945 - September 8, 2020
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of JoAnne at Copper Ridge Place on September 8, 2020. Her spirit has been set free to continue to roam the museums and beaches of the world.
Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia to parents Florence Mary Patriquin (Alexander) and Clayton Gerald Patriquin. In 1952 the family moved to Whitehorse, Yukon where JoAnne and her sisters attended Whitehorse High School on 4th avenue. JoAnne was a member of the first class Graduating from FH. Collins in 1963. She then attended business college in Edmonton, returned to Whitehorse and worked at local law firm Wylie and Collins then for CN Telecommunications.
After marriage to Michael Hollingdale the couple moved to Gillingham, England where her beloved daughter Keltie Paige Hollingdale was born in 1969. Upon returning to Whitehorse JoAnne continued her career working with Public Works in Whitehorse, RCMP in Vancouver and Fisheries and Oceans in Sarnia, Ontario. Retirement saw her return to Whitehorse to be closer to her daughter Keltie.
JoAnne is predeceased by Mother Florence (2004) Sister Elaine Lea (1993) Father Clayton (1986) and infant sister Lois. She is survived by daughter Keltie Hollingdale, Whitehorse, sister Gerri Patriquin-McKee, Vancouver, Charlene Scott (Fred) Marsh Lake, two nieces and three nephews as well as great nephews and nieces, a great great niece and a great great nephew. JoAnne was a doting Mom, Aunt and Great Aunt as well as a devoted sister. She was a generous soul always there to help any one in need: friend, family or stranger and never expected anything in return.
JoAnne was a joy to be with and never too busy to have a chat and laugh. She was a great dancer, an avid reader and did a great deal of walking, bicycling or anything to enjoy the outdoors. She never missed a Coronation Street episode. She enjoyed travel especially to warm beach countries including Thailand, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Turkey, Israel, Australia, New Zealand as well as many European countries among them France, Greece and Great Britain.
JoAnne spent her final years at Copper Ridge Place where she kept busy entertaining the staff and residents with her wit, dancing and fancy costumes. The wonderful staff at CRP made JoAnne's final years full of comfort and laughter and is so appreciated by the family. A special thank you to Tammy MacKay-Kearney whose support to JoAnne was invaluable. JoAnne will be forever missed by the family but her smile and good nature will remain in memory forever.
Although she would have loved a dance, there will be no service. To honour JoAnne's generous nature make a donation to a charity of choice.
