August 6, 1935 - November 29, 2019
Joan Carlson left us on November 29, 2019 and we will miss her bright blue eyes and caring smile. She had a kind word for everyone and would gently remind us that everyone was doing their best at any given time. A friend and helpmate, she would visit friends and acquaintances when they were in hospital or one of the care facilities, biding time and conversation to brighten their day.
A long-time resident of Atlin, B.C., she moved to Whitehorse in 2000 after the passing of her husband, Ted Carlson. She is survived by her children, Lorrina Mitchell, Michael Scholz, Karl Scholz, Tuchodi Carlson and her brother, Stanley Wise.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Joan would want you to pass a kindness forward and be good to one another. For family and friends, there will be a celebration of life in 2020 at a time yet to be determined.
A heartfelt thank you to the many doctors, nurses, EMO staff and home workers who provided care and assistance through the years. We appreciate that your efforts enabled Joan to remain fiercely independent until her journey's end.
