In Loving Memory ~

Frances was a respected elder and matriarch of the Jenny LeBarge family of the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council as well as the Daklaweidi Clan of the Wolf Moiety, and was an Order of Yukon recipient.

Throughout her life, Frances blazed trail and created space for women, children, families and First Nations people. She took over the reins of her family's outfitting concession in a male-dominated industry, supported First Nations students living without their families and communities, earned her own education and committed decades of her career to social work, established a daycare, indigenous women's rights organizations, and was at the forefront of self governance for Yukon First Nations as well as her own nation, specifically.

Frances gave her time and guidance to countless organizations and worked tirelessly to make Yukon a better place for the land, animals, and all living things. She was always kind and caring with everyone she met. She was a beautiful artist, loved curling, had a quick wit and direct approach, was honest, eloquent and inspiring.

Frances will be forever missed by her family and friends, who loved her dearly.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who helped with her funeral and potlatch, especially those who donated moose meat, the pallbearers, kitchen and hall helpers, and the rcmp who provided an escort for the procession to Frances' final resting place at Tàa'an Män.
