October 3, 1939 - December 11, 2018
Tony quietly passed away on the morning of Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in the company of his family, good friends, and colleagues at the Whitehorse General Hospital. His family would like to extend their gratitude to the hospital staff for their exemplary care during that time. The thoughtful and caring nature of the staff was much appreciated.

Tony lived a wonderful life. He grew up on a farm in Oxford, England surrounded by the realities of World War II, with his mother, Valborg Kristina (nee Hansen from Copenhagen, Denmark), father, Robert Donovon de la Mare (Oxford, England), and siblings, Richard (dec'd), and Philippa. Following his university studies, he graduated at Glasgow University in Scotland, with a degree in veterinary medicine (M.R.C.V.S.,B.V.M.S.,) followed by another degree in medicine (M.B.Ch.B).

During this time, he met Marjorie, and enjoyed 46 years of marriage together that resulted in three Yukon sons, Erik, Iain, and Douglas. Tony's love for his family, the outdoors, animals, cycling, tinkering with engines, aviation, swimming, surfing, snowboarding, skiing, canoe trips, and his kind yet candid approach with his patients will be how he is remembered by many.

A service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Whitehorse United Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Yukon Transportation Museum at 2:00 pm. All are welcome.
