March 1, 2019
With great sadness the family of Bill Bakk announces his passing March 1, 2019 at Whitehorse General Hospital.

Bill is survived by his wife Rita; sons Bill (Karen), Warren (Britni); grandchildren, Ben, Sara, Aidan and great-grandchildren

Braedon, Kennedy, Eli, Mateya.

Bill first visited the Yukon in 1974 and was immediately drawn to and captivated by the natural wonders of this unique northern territory. Bill believed it to be unlike any place that he had traveled and felt that it was "God's Country". Returning home to Victoria, Bill made the easy decision to say farewell to his Victoria life and friends. Within the year Bill and family moved north to Whitehorse and never looked back.

Bill quickly became involved in his new northern community at the arena coaching or cheering young hockey players on. He eventually learned to master and enjoy the ski slopes as well.

When not at work, a good day would be putting his boat or canoe in the water, playing a round of golf or just hiking the trails summer or winter.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 9th, 11 am. at Sacred Heart Church.

In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Bill's love for animals, any donations to Mae Bachur Animal Shelter will be much appreciated.

Rest in Peace Dad. We love you and miss you.
