A 52-year-old Yukon woman died Saturday night after her van crashed head-on with a tractor trailer near Fort St. John, B.C.

The RCMP have not released the woman’s name.

Investigators say the van was travelling south when it collided with a tractor trailer travelling north at mile 54 of the Alaska Highway.

The woman was pronounced dead at scene. The driver of the tractor trailer unit was uninjured.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but officers believe slippery road conditions may have been a contributing factor, according to an RCMP news release.
