For the last few months we worked closely with Aasman Brand Communications Inc. to give our website a fresh new look. One of the major changes is that our site can now be viewed properly on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

We went with HTML 5, so Flash is no longer required to view our videos and slideshows on mobile devices.

You’ll notice there is now advertising, but it is done in such a way that we believe won’t distract from your reading experience.

Some of the biggest changes involve our multimedia section. Slideshows and videos are now played in a larger format, so you can enjoy the work of our photographers even more. There is now an archive section to view past images and cartoons by Wyatt Tremblay. You will also be able to comment on the images and cartoons.

Our popular letters, columns and editorials are now in one section called Letters & Opinions.

Also, the look of our Marketplace section, where you can view all the ads from the print edition, has been beefed up.

The redesign was a major endeavor and we hope you enjoy its new look. If you come across any issues while viewing the site please contact webadmin@yukon-news.com.

On a side note, you might have noticed that our archives and search functions have been disabled. This is only temporary and should be back up on Tuesday.
