Transportation Safety Board deploys investigators to Haines Junction following fatal plane crash

Coroner's service confirms fatality as safety board launches investigation

The Transportation Safety Board and the Yukon Coroner's Service are investigating a fatal plane crash that took place in Haines Junction on June 10.

The Transportation Safety Board has issued a statement confirming the plane crash took place at the Haines Junction airport and that an investigation into it has commenced.

A notice issued by the safety board at 7:30 p.m. on June 10 confirms that it has deployed investigators following the crash of a Cessna aircraft operated by Rocking Star Adventures Ltd. 

Heather Jones, the Yukon's chief coroner, confirmed that her office is investigating a fatality associated with the plane crash that took place early this afternoon. She said additional details could not be released at this time.
