I took this photograph in the late 1960s or early 1970s. This famous steamboat pilot was born in 1898 in an Indian village at Marsh Lake.

I took this photograph in the late 1960s or early 1970s. This famous steamboat pilot was born in 1898 in an Indian village at Marsh Lake.

He worked on most of the major rivers of the Yukon including the Yukon, Stewart, Pelly and Nisutlin, as well as the Dease River in BC and the Tanana in Alaska.

He passed away years ago, but is fondly remembered by many.
