The new online snowmobile safety test is now available for Whitehorse residents.
As part of the new snowmobile bylaw, anyone who wants to operate a snowmobile in the city will have to pass the test in order to obtain a snowmobile safety card. Carrying the card while riding becomes mandatory in January.
The test is similar to what’s required to obtain a boating licence. It covers a number of topics, including basic maintenance, safety, riding skills, and regulations.
Under the new bylaw liability insurance, registration and helmets are also required to operate a snowmobile within city limits.
