Lance Mackey leads the Iditarod sled dog race.
The four-time Quest champ and two-time Iditarod winner is less than 35 kilometres from finishing.
Whitehorse musher Sebastian Schnuelle isn’t far behind.
This year’s Quest champ is in second. He’s been there for days.
But Annie Lake’s Hugh Neff and Whitehorse musher Hans Gatt have dropped out of the top 10.
Neff is now running in 14th place, and Gatt is in 17th. The pair are more than 150 kilometres behind Mackey and Schnuelle.
Shallow Bay’s Gerry Willomitzer is in 27th place, out of 57 competitors. (Genesee Keevil)
