Flooding has forced the closure of a small portion of the Millennium Trail under the Robert Campbell Bridge adjacent to the SS Klondike.
Rising river levels and a buildup of ice floes have caused ice and water to wash onto “a portion” of the trail, no doubt providing a bone shattering hazard to joggers and leisure walkers of all stripes.
“We’ve barricaded both sides of the trail in that immediate area—high-visibility barricades—and we’ve also placed signs denoting that the trail is closed in that area,” said Gary Hnatiuk, projects co-ordinator for Whitehorse. (Tristin Hopper)
