The RCMP has issued an arrest warrant for second degree murder following a stabbing death in Copper Ridge.

Police are warning the public that Michael Thomas MacPherson is considered armed and dangerous.

" The RCMP urges the public not to approach Mr. MacPherson or his vehicles, but to immediately call 911 or the RCMP complaint line," the police said in a press release.

Investigators say he could be heading for British Columbia or Saskatchewan.

The arrest warrant is in connection to the death of Tanner Sinclair, 27, who died early this morning.

Police received a 911 call to a home on Lazulite Drive in Copper Ridge around 12:20 a.m. Sinclair was taken to Whitehorse General Hospital where he died.

MacPherson is described as a 32-year-old caucasian male, 5'10", 220 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes.

MacPherson has also been known to use the names Michael Proud and Michael Pound.

Thanks to help from the public, police have found MacPherson's 2002 Cadillac Escalade. RCMP are now searching for another vehicle he may be driving – an older, red Toyota Corolla that is damaged with several dents. Its license plate number is unknown, but it may be carrying a plate registered to another vehicle: HHS50. The vehicle was previously described as a red Honda Civic.

RCMP would also like to speak to anyone who sold a red Toyota Corolla within the last month.
