Go-kart races, driver training, and motocross could all be part of the list of potential activities at a potential motorsports park in the territory.

The Klondike Cruisers Association is seeking input on the possibilities for such a site.

The association announced on March 4 that it had launched a survey seeking feedback about a potential park for motor racing events as part of a scoping study to explore the possibility.

As described in the statement, such a park would be a specialized site to accommodate a variety of motor racing events ranging from car and motorcycle races to go-karting and possibly off-roading and motocross races.

“During the winter months, the facility could be adapted for snowmobile races,” the association said in the release. “Beyond hosting competitive events, the proposed park aims to provide facilities for driver training, vehicle testing and offer amenities for spectators, positioning itself as a central hub for motorsports enthusiasts. These parks, depending on design, can also host other outdoor spectator sports or community events.

“The park is envisioned as a safe, controlled environment that caters to both competitive racers and recreational users, promoting motorsports within a framework of community safety and enjoyment.”

The association went on to explain that it designed the survey to ensure the development of such a park aligns with community interests and needs. The survey will examine people’s thoughts, preferences and any concerns they may have about the project.

“This includes the types of facilities you desire, how you envision utilizing the park, and its anticipated impact on the community,” the association said.
