An employee at the Whitehorse Correctional Centre is facing drug-related charges.

Police have confirmed they laid two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking against a 45-year-old Whitehorse man.

Michael Gaber was charged on Boxing Day, said Yukon RCMP Const. Christine Grant.

The charges relate to marijuana and methylphenidate. Methylphenidate is a drug sold under a number of brand names, including Ritalin.

Details surrounding the case are protected under a publication ban.
