The interesting licence-plate outhouse shown belongs to Doug Thomas. It is located at his house at Marsh Lake, Yukon. The photo is by Doug Thomas.
I have sketched and photographed many outhouses throughout the Yukon from Whiskey Flats to Miller Creek. Each has its own personality. At the old Pelly Farm house I believe there was a unique log one.
Sometimes when I do a cartoon of an outhouse, I’ll include a stovepipe coming out of the side of the outhouse, or a TV antenna on the roof (like the pen and ink illustration shows).
If you can remember an interesting Yukon outhouse please write us a short note about it.
