The Guild Hall has a new artistic director.

Anthony Trombetta was named to the post earlier this year.

Trombetta is a long-time director and former president of the Guild Society.

“The Guild Society members feel fortunate to have someone of Mr. Trombetta’s calibre to step in after our previous artistic director, Katherine McCallum, who celebrated four successful seasons this year,” the society said in a statement.

“The society feels that Mr. Trombetta’s artistic vision, coupled with his long time love affair with the Guild Hall and seasoned with his wealth of experience and knowledge, will take our little theatre to a new level.”

Trombetta has been part of the Whitehorse arts community for more than 10 years. His resume includes writing, producing, acting, performing, doing stand-up comedy, and directing that has taken him to Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia, and across the Yukon.

“He also brings stage management, technical direction, and sound design skills to this position. His excitement and enthusiasm has already infected us all,” the society said.
