RCMP have arrested four men after a home was robbed in Takhini.
On Wednesday at approximately 3:40 a.m., Whitehorse RCMP were called by a homeowner who had been assaulted by people who broke into his house wearing masks.
The man told officers he was struck on the back of the head and then bear-sprayed, police say in a statement.
The thieves stole his television and fled the residence in a grey, Chevrolet mini-van, the man said.
Police later spotted a van matching the description outside a Cook Street home. The van had been reported stolen earlier in the morning.
Whitehorse RCMP executed a search warrant at the Cook Street residence with the assistance of a police dog. Some stolen items were recovered, police say.
Four Whitehorse men were arrested. They face charges of assault with a weapon, disguise with intent and break and enter. They are currently in jail pending show cause hearings. Their names have not been released.
