A speaker’s conference on First Nation mineral, oil and gas and energy development opened in Whitehorse yesterday.
The CEOs of most Yukon mining companies as well as numerous chiefs will address the conference over the next two days at the High Country Inn.
The Yukon First Nations Resource Opportunity Conference is the first of its kind, said Premier Dennis Fentie in a brief speech to attendees last night.
A course on introducing corporations to First Nations’ legal and cultural differences opened the conference.
