We owe it to the nation, and the world

We owe it to the nation, and the world To whom it should concern (which is all of us, including the mining industry): I hope the Peel Watershed Planning Commission and the Yukon government take the majority of opinions on the future of this region serio

To whom it should concern (which is all of us, including the mining industry):

I hope the Peel Watershed Planning Commission and the Yukon government take the majority of opinions on the future of this region seriously.

The message is clearly to protect this wonderful wilderness that we, as Yukoners, are supposed to be responsible stewards of. Otherwise the rest of Canada, that pays most of our bills, should seriously think of writing us off.

Mining interests should come down the list in terms of their credibility; they have many other areas to play in and, while they’re at it, to clean up.

The First Nations have it right; the commission’s report does not go nearly far enough with regards to protecting this unique resource for the Yukon, Canada and for the world.
