Nasty conditions greeted the 22 riders who decided riding 32.5-kilometres into a headwind was more fun that watching Detroit win the Stanley Cup.
It was cool, with winds out of the south at 25 to 30 kilometres per hour — which made the ride out to the turnaround on the North Klondike a lot of fun, but the ride back to the finish not so much fun.
The three-person team of Brad Barton, Scott Kerby and Troy Henry, aka Nasty, Cold and Windy had the fastest time on the night with a time of 50 minutes and 25 seconds.
A scant 18 seconds back, in second place, was the two-person team of Derrick Hynes and Bill Slater.
Mike McCann finished in third place, riding solo and only 25 seconds out of first and just six seconds back of second.
