Monday, February 11 — Vasant Panchami, the Hindu celebration of spring, is dedicated to Saraswati, goddess of learning and spiritual enlightenment. The colour yellow is worn. It is a sign of prosperity and of love.

Thursday, February 14 — St. Valentine’s Day, the Christian commemoration of the life of a 3rd-century Roman martyr, focuses on the love of God present in people’s lives. In the late Middle Ages this day became associated with romantic love.
