In the for what it’s worth department:
In the current crop of cuties running for election in Watson Lake we have one experienced politician and two not so much.
Just thinking it might be prudent for Watson Lake to consider electing Liard McMillan; this would bridge a long-standing gap in communication between three governments.
For Watson Lake to actually “get moving,” this would be a huge leap forward. McMillan is an educated person with three terms of stickhandling through the political quagmire involving the federal, territorial, as well as the First Nations governments. This is no small task.
It is truly commendable when anyone is willing to put their head in the public-opinion guillotine.
The other two candidates should be applauded.
In the end, it is not that side versus this side or the other way around, it is about a community that can elect to take a different approach or go down the same old blah, blah road it has been on since ‘96.
I, for one, am endorsing McMillan.
