Thanks for the flood vigilance

A big thank you to the hardworking crew members who supplied sandbags and advice to residents of the low-lying properties at Army Beach and South McClintock Bay at Marsh Lake. Our family hauled and placed 450 bags adjacen

A big thank you to the hardworking crew members who supplied sandbags and advice to residents of the low-lying properties at Army Beach and South McClintock Bay at Marsh Lake.

Our family hauled and placed 450 bags adjacent to our shoreline as a precaution on July 29 and hoped for the best. When we returned on August 15, to our surprise, Yukon’s hardworking crew had rebuilt our berm, better and a bit higher just in case the rising waters continued. To our grandchildren’s surprise, even their precious Fairy House was protected from the threatening rising water.

We are certain that all the other waterfront residents who were also assisted above and beyond the call of duty share in our appreciation for their hard work.

The water level today had dropped considerably from its apparent peak last week.
