A warm place on a cold night no longer exists, owing to an overzealous government.
When it was 40 below, the lights of Swift River were a good sight. Now the journey will be a little more perilous.
When I came to the Yukon 40 years ago, it was a fun place. Now, Whitehorse and the rest of the Yukon has been rendered bland by the actions of countless waves of government drones here for the short haul.
Whitehorse’s streets are empty on a summer’s night. Maybe I am older, or has the place changed?
Perhaps things would have turned out differently if any government people passing Swift River had spent their lavish meal allowance instead of buying a candy bar and sliding the rest in their pocket.
The owners would have had more than enough to make any required upgrades.
