As the Yukon Party candidate in the recent byelection, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Liz Hanson for being elected as the new MLA for Whitehorse Centre.
Liz has been blessed with the opportunity to take on new and exciting challenges. I wish her well in her new journey.
I would also like to thank both Liz Hanson and Kirk Cameron for a 30-day campaign that I will not soon, if ever, forget.
We all put in an incredible amount of effort and genuinely listened to the residents of Whitehorse Centre, identifying their thoughts, concerns and ideas. And I think, more importantly, we didn’t wait until one of us got the job before trying to help people with the concerns that required immediate attention.
Thank you to the residents of Whitehorse Centre for allowing me the opportunity to not once, not twice, but three times knock on your door to interrupt you at family time and dinners.
You gave me the opportunity to talk to you about your thoughts on Yukon and Whitehorse. You taught me a great deal while giving me the opportunity to show you who I am.
I would also like to thank my campaign manager Dan MacDonald, the Yukon Party executive, caucus, volunteers and supporters for their help, encouragement and hard work. I learned so much from all of you.
And, most importantly, I would like to thank my beautiful wife Danielle, three sons Matt, Kyle and Jack and my extended family for their support and inspiration.
