Also, a big thank you to Samantha Sam for sharing some of her experiences. It was a hard story to read, but I hope everyone does.
Here in Whitehorse, youth and many families are struggling. The gap between wealthy and poor is widening. It’s awfully hard for young people. It’s also very tenuous for many of us trying to look after a family.
I hope that the Yukon News will continue to strive to get these heartbreaking stories out in the open. I live in a town of people who seem more willing to help animals than people who so desperately need a hand up.
In addition, I hope that Samantha Sam, or anyone who knows the people involved, is strong enough to get the mother’s past boyfriend charged with the murder of her little brother as well as the abuse against her.
People who hurt children should never get away with it.
