Canadian First Nations and North American conservationists are now becoming a very powerful lobby in the Yukon and Canada in general.

If Canadian provincial and territorial governments are going to bow to all their huge protected-area demands, then these governments have a duty to inform the oil, mining and exploration industries immediately, so these industries can take their jobs and their investments to other countries who want development.

However, if the Peel River proposal goes through as proposed, then companies who had planned to spend millions of dollars on mineral exploration in the Yukon, in 2011 and into the future, will get

the message. They will catch the next flight out of Whitehorse, never to invest one dime in the territory again.
