Open letter to MP Ryan Leef:

On May 13, you told Parliament that “the incumbent (Larry Bagnell) in the last election in the Yukon spent $20,000 more than he had in the last election and lost by 1,500 votes.”

Mr Leef, not only do I have serious issues with the policies and attitude of the Harper government, I now have a serious problem with your math and your memory.

Larry Bagnell lost his seat by less than 150 votes, not by 1,500 as you have so falsely stated to the Canadian public.

Your victory in 2011 was a razor-thin one, made possible by vote splitting and not because the Yukon public embraces Harper conservatism to the point that they gave you an overwhelming landslide victory.

A retraction of your statement and a public apology to Larry Bagnell are in order.

Please go back to math class and please work on your memory issues before the next election, Mr. Leef.
