Open letter to Jason Bilsky, CEO, Whitehorse Hospital Corp.:

Over the past month, my family has spent a lot more time at Whitehorse General Hospital than we ever expected to. I needed to use the emergency room for a non-life threatening condition in late May, and my mother-in-law was admitted to hospital after falling and breaking her hip. We are both doing fine now, thanks to the excellent care we received at the Whitehorse General Hospital.

I was particularly grateful that I was able to wait with my mother-in-law during her experience and would like to thank doctors and nurses for their efforts as well as the EMS staff who accompanied her on her medevac to Vancouver. Medical staff were courteous and took the time to explain what was happening and why and answered all of our many questions. On her return, occupational and physical therapists were equally helpful.

I would like to thank not just the doctors and nurses that directly or indirectly attended to our needs with a high level of service, but also hospital staff members in the lab, reception, housekeeping, and food services areas.
