I believe everyone is entitled to an opinion and I feel it is time I expressed mine.

For the past four years I have been reading your letters to the editor, not to mention the countless mass recipient e-mails you distribute so freely.

In the past I have found your stories amusing and somewhat informative but, enough already. Writers should base their material on facts and in a fair manner, not on hearsay.

What are you trying to demonstrate by slandering our residents and smearing reputations in our community?

If all your facts are “common knowledge,” as you call it, one could also say it’s “common gossip.”

You spend most of your time in the bush away from town, and people you claim to know so well you rarely see. If you have someone feeding you this rubbish, perhaps they should come forward and be heard. No place is without problems, but if you are really a concerned citizen then perhaps you should be a little more proactive rather than casting blame.

If one wanted to direct blame, one could say for certain that we have residents that come to town and drive under the influence of alcohol, putting ourselves and children in great danger. Perhaps if you used your ideas towards positive solutions, rather than pointing fingers, you would meet with less opposition.

I happen to be proud of our town and the people that work towards making it a happier, healthier and safer place to live.

They all feel like extended family, this being such a small town.

By the way, who appointed you “citizens’ advocate?” Because I, for one, want a recount. What are you doing to make this a better place, other than casting negativity and bad feelings?
