MLA Steve Cardiff recently announced that he was withdrawing his bid for the leadership of the Yukon New Democratic Party. Some folks have been critical of his decision in this regard and are adamant that Cardiff should provide the reason and details of his decision.
I do not agree.
As a member of the legislative assembly, Cardiff conducts himself in an honourable manner and works very hard for the betterment of his constituents and indeed that of all Yukoners.
I respect his decision to withdraw from the NDP leadership race and I am content with his reasons for doing so without being privy to the same.
We are lucky to have folks like Cardiff serving in our legislature, as a leader or not.
