I can’t find a better radio show anywhere
than Christine Genier’s Music in the Morning, CHON-FM’s daily offering of real country, folk, bluegrass, and blues.
I usually plug into Sirius’s Bluegrass Junction for my daily fix of bluegrass, but I turn it off between 9 a.m. and noon to listen to Christine’s radio show.
I am always amazed at the breadth of great music she plays. She is also a great promoter of the artists playing the Kluane Mountain Bluegrass Festival, and there is no doubt her show has helped broaden our festival audience each year.
We are so fortunate to have CHON-FM broadcasting through the Yukon, a radio station that is not driven by corporate pop and country schlock ‘flavours of the month.’
