On behalf of the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club and Cross Country Yukon (CCY), we would like to congratulate Air North, Yukon’s Airline for its support of cross country skiing in the Yukon.
Air North and Cross Country Yukon have recently entered into a three-year sponsorship arrangement, along with the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club, that provides significant relief in the expense of running our two organizations.
Through this sponsorship, Air North will provide diesel fuel each month during the ski season which will make a significant difference in the costs of operating trail grooming equipment. Air North will also subsidize the cost of tickets and baggage fees for Yukon skiers travelling to competitions and events outside the territory.
This is the type of support that helps CCY develop Yukon athletes such as Emily Nishikawa, who are now competing at Olympic and World Cup levels. For the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club, it is also a major community investment in helping the club maintain first-class trails for the enjoyment of all skiers.
