A traditional argument

Monty Alford, I fully support your view on the regulation of the use of ATVs, but would like to ask how the use of ATVs has been part of the traditional hunting and trapping way of life of the Yukon First Nations.

There is nothing “traditional” about using ATVs, nor rifles with power scopes to hunt Yukon game.

In my opinion, the benefits and advantages Yukon First Nations receive over Yukon non-First Nation citizens with the argument of “traditional hunting and fishing rights” should not include ATVs and guns, but be restricted to traditional hunting, trapping and fishing methods only.

All ATV use and hunting regulations should be the same for all Yukoners, First Nation or non-First Nation.
