The Whitehorse Table Tennis Club is hoping to send more than just boys to the next Arctic Winter Games. The club is holding table tennis trials for the Games over the next two weekends at Whitehorse Elementary and are hoping for some girls to come out.

“Girls are desperately needed for the table tennis trials,” said club president Dave Stockdale. “At the present time, we have no active girls players in the club.”

Specifically, the club is looking for girls to play in the 17-and-under and the 15-and-under divisions.

The first tryout for girls is on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., with registration starting at 2 p.m. The boys will have their first try-out the following day between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also at Whitehorse Elementary (with the entrance around the back of the school).

More tryouts will take place the following weekend and are open to those who cannot come out Saturday or Sunday.

The Arctic Winter Games are scheduled for March 6-13 in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
