Seventeen brave orienteers tackled rarely explored sections of the Paddy’s Pond map on the rainiest day of the year last Wednesday.
The downpour even kept the bugs away.
The fastest time on the intermediate course was Lee Hawkings in 45:14, followed closely by Colin Abbott in 47:05. On the long advanced course, Brent Langbakk was the fastest with a time of 47:37.
The fastest women on the long advanced was Justine Scheck with a time of 79:30, followed closely by Pam James in a time of 81:54.
Good luck to Justine Scheck who is competing at the World Junior Orienteering Championships in Lithuania from July 3 to July 8 with the Junior National Team.

Men’s Commercial Golf
The big winners this week in the Men’s Commercial Golf League at the Mountainview were Yukon Tire Mechanical on the front nine, and Feature Foods on the back nine.
This week’s format was team scramble, and scores were adjusted by 20 per cent of team handicaps. As a result, Yukon Tire Mechanical takes over first place, tied with P&M Recycling.
