In Photos: Fat-tire bike riders push endurance on year’s shortest day

In “5+ Hours of Light Fat Bike Festival” riders tried for as many laps of a 10km circuit as possible

Local cycling organizations and their members who have bikes suited to the snowy conditions gathered on a packed circuit of trails to try to out pace the sunset.

The “5+ Hours of Light Fat Bike Festival” was hosted by the Cycling Association of Yukon and Contagious Mountain Bike Club. It tooked place on a packed 10-kilometre trail loop near the Wolf Creek campground. In an email to the News organizers stated that 62 riders in total registered to participate and “Hudson L” put in a long day on the pedals to set a course record of nine completed laps.
