More than 20 runners came out Thursday to run a 6.5-kilometre course along Grey Mountain’s rugged mountain bike trails SFD and Girlfriend at the Sportslife Trail Run.

“Several new runners came out, some took detours, as did some of the regulars,” said organizer Nancy Thomson. “But, in the end, everyone made it back to the finish line.

“Kudos to those hearty runners who were undeterred by their detours and gamely kept running,” she added.

This Thursday’s run will take place on the ski trails at Mount McIntyre. Although the course is a little longer, stretching eight kilometres, it has less steep inclines than  SFD and Girlfriend.

Runners are asked to meet in the curling club’s parking lot by the tennis courts at 6:30 p.m.
