It is with profound sadness that the family of Travis Richard Adams announces his sudden passing on July 5, 2020, near Whitehorse, Yukon.
Travis was born to Carol and Rod Adams on June 13, 1977, in Red Deer, Alberta. Travis and his family moved from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta to Whitehorse, Yukon where he graduated in 1995. Travis grew up in the family business, Nuway Crushing Ltd. Through his hard work and natural business acumen, he took over leadership as the company's president with support from Rod - his dad, friend, and mentor. Travis enjoyed his work and the people he worked with even more. His motto was to build a team so strong that it was difficult to identify the boss. He was so proud of the Nuway family.
In 1997, Travis met and fell in love with Jennifer DeHart, and together they eventually welcomed three beautiful children: Sawyer, Sam, and Everly. The kids were his best friends and they knew such delight and laughter in spending time together. He was Jennifer's number one fan. They were partners in life and work, and their deep fondness for each other was clearly evident.
Travis was blessed with a boundless enjoyment of life, and he lived every day to its fullest. Whether fishing with his kids on the lake, spending time at the cabin, running, or enjoying a variety of sports with buddies, Travis met every adventure with enthusiasm. He was a proud hockey dad, active in his kids' activities and happily shared his hobbies with them. While supporting Sawyer at school in Vancouver, he expanded his love of the city, and met many new friends around the rink. Time there was enriched by family vacations spent mountain biking and snowboarding.
Travis's love of life was surpassed only by his love for his family, and he made sure that each of them felt special and cared for, as only he could. His genuine warmth meant that he easily turned any acquaintance into a friend, likely offering them a clever nickname along the way. Travis knew that nothing was more important than time well spent with the people he loved, and they may take comfort in knowing that he truly made each day matter.
Travis is survived by the loves of his life, his partner Jennifer DeHart, and their children Sawyer, Sam, and Everly; parents Rod and Carol Adams; brother Jason (Alison) Adams, nephews Seth and Cody, and niece Leona; sister Tara (David) Larkin, nephews Zeb and Austin and niece Kya; family-in-law Cathy Dugas, Ross DeHart and family, Lindsay DeHart (Steven Bartsch), and nephews Thomas and Colin; cousin Mike Murphy and family; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will also be sadly missed by family pets Callie and constant companion Tucker.
Travis will be remembered as a kind and humble soul, and our lives are enriched through a wealth of great memories. His generosity and philanthropy truly highlighted his commitment to the community. Jennifer's wish is that his memory be celebrated by everyone through kindness to one another.
