Steven Murphy transitioned peacefully on May 9, 2022. He will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, and uncle.
Steven was born to loving parents Brenda and CJ Murphy on August 19, 1959 in Whitehorse, Yukon. Steven grew up in the north spending his time between Whitehorse and Atlin. He developed a love of fast cars and Pink Floyd in his teenage years. Steven worked as a heavy equipment operator which took him all over the North as well as Central America.
Steven will be remembered as an out going, hardworking and passionate man with a huge heart.
He loved his friends, family, and community very much. He was fortunate enough to make many contributions to the communities of Atlin and Old Crow.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son Andrew, sisters Beverly (Shana) and Kathy (Pat), stepmother Jean, nieces Mallory and Jesyca, nephew Taylor, three great nieces Sydney, Rylie, and Emma, and great-nephew Tanner.
Steven also leaves behind his best friend Larry as well as many other friends and extended family.
Steven is predeceased by his mother Brenda, his father CJ, and sister Carol.
A celebration of life for Steven will be announced at a later date.
