August 9, 1925 - April 22, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Emmett Cousins, better known as "Bob" AKA "Boots" on Monday, April 22, 2019 in Whitehorse, Yukon at the age of 93.
Bob was born in Vancouver, BC. At a young age he joined the Canadian Army which brought him to Edmonton, AB where he met his true love, Edie. Together they moved to Whitehorse, YT in 1954 to raise their family. This is where they called home until the end. Bob was a Freemason and a member in The Shriners, Ride for Dad Yukon, Canadian Owners and Pilots Association, Harley Owners Group, Yukon Search & Rescue and many more organizations during his 65 years in the Yukon. His legacy to the Yukon is the design and building of Cousins Airstrip in 1964, used by many as a flight training field today.
He is predeceased by his wife Edith D. Cousins (Edie) 2008. He is survived by his children Robert "Jay" Cousins, Gayle Lovell, and Wayne Cousins (Dione). Grandfather to Jenelle Cousins, Jeffrey Cousins, Emma Galenzoski, Melanie Cousins, Danny Cousins, Cheryl Lovell and Darren Lovell.
Our family is forever grateful for the care that he received from every person involved with him over the past few years. A big "Thank You" to all the staff at Whistle Bend Place for the excellent support and compassion he was provided during his short stay. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
As per Bob's wishes there will be no funeral service.

Ride on, Bob!
