Maybelle "Doe" Cameron (nee Simpson)

March 12, 1931 - September 27, 2018
Doe passed away peacefully at the age of 87 at Copper Ridge Place. Beloved wife of Robert "Bob" Cameron, mother of Pat Birmingham, Jack Simpson, Gordon Simpson, Sharman Morrison-Harvey, Grandmother of 12, Great Grandmother of 15 and beloved sister of 4 brothers and 9 sisters. Doe is predeceased by spouse Jack Simpson Sr. and 11 of her brothers and sisters.
Doe was born in Lillooet, BC to father Chow Wing and mother Elizabeth Mae Campbell. She spent her childhood years in Lillooet, Cherryville, Vernon and Vancouver, B.C. She first came to the Yukon in the late 1940's, to work with her sisters at the Circle Cafe and made the Yukon her home in 1953. She had a colourful working history, everything from owning her own businesses to working for friends to sitting in the stock market trying to figure out her best buys or sells.
Doe was gentle, unbelievably generous and kind - she would give a stranger "the shirt off her back". She cared for everyone she met and never missed an opportunity to say, "love you sweetheart". Doe passed at her favourite time of year, she loved going for drives to admire the beauty and colors of fall.
At Doe's request there will be no service, but please join her family and friends for a gathering and the sharing of memories at the Golden Age Society on Saturday, October 6th, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.
A special Thank You to the staff at Copper Ridge for all the love and kindness shown to Doe during her time with you.

Remembering you is easy. We do it everyday. Missing you is the heartache, that never goes away.
