February 1, 1958 - March 8, 2021
Mary Lou Conley's extraordinary life was cut short by pancreatic cancer, leaving family and friends shocked and heartbroken.
Mary Lou was born in Assiut, Egypt in 1958 to missionary parents and lived in the country until 1962. As a young woman Mary travelled to the Yukon where she met Reg Wolfe and had two children, Virginia and Jesse Wolfe.
Mary Lou moved back to Ontario to raise her children, working as a reporter, freelance photojournalist and later as a communications consultant. Mary Lou loved beaches and water, camping, traveling, live music and festivals.
Her final hours were spent in the loving company of her children and sister. Thank you to the Oncology and ICU teams at The Ottawa Hospital for their compassion and care.
Mary Lou is predeceased by her parents Reverends Doris and Earl Conley, and is survived by her children, sister Sandra Conley, brother Henry Conley, and several cousins.
Mary Lou was a beautiful, vibrant and kind soul. She had a natural light that burned bright within her. Now that light has gone out, leaving an emptiness in many people's lives. We all will miss her greatly. Bye for now Mary Lou. May you always be surrounded by love and beautiful music.
A musical tribute in her honour is available on Youtube at the channel "Mary Lou Conley Musical Tribute"
